Our Story

Resort foundations and landscape
The Beginning

Genesis of an Eco-Sanctuary

Oceanique was envisioned as a response to the footprints of global travel. Founded in 2018, our purpose was clear: to design a private island resort that does not compete with the environment, but rather, dissolves into it.

We collaborated with environmental scientists, master stone-carvers, and contemporary architects to craft a sanctuary where guests can experience the raw majesty of Bora Bora's turquoise reef systems while leaving the delicate ecosystem entirely undisturbed.

Every wooden joint, water pipe, and light fixture has been curated to maintain this balance. Today, we stand as one of the South Pacific's most celebrated net-zero boutique retreats.

Our Credo

The Three Foundations

1. Natural Harmony

Our structures conform strictly to the local typography. We preserve coastal vegetation, allowing palms and roots to grow around walkways and structures naturally.

2. Absolute Seclusion

We believe silence is the ultimate modern luxury. With only 16 isolated bungalows, guest experiences are entirely intimate, protected by natural foliage buffers.

3. Holistic Wellness

Wellness is integrated into everything: from local garden infusions at breakfast, to the geothermal mineral baths in our private treatment rooms.

Eco-Sustainability In Practice

Sustainability is not a marketing concept at Oceanique; it is the operational core of our resort. We actively engage in the conservation of French Polynesia's marine life while striving to achieve a carbon-neutral vacation style.

  • Lagoon Coral Nursery: We sponsor an active on-site coral grafting program to regenerate local bleaching events.
  • Localized Microgrid: High-efficiency solar cells store clean power in a large localized battery bank, providing 24/7 carbon-free electricity.
  • Zero-Plastic Policy: An on-site micro-purification plant filters rainwater, serving it chilled in stylized clay flasks.
  • Hydroponic Farm: Our restaurant salad greens and micro-herbs are harvested daily from our nutrient-rich farm beds.

Modern Tropical Architecture

Minimalist lines, raw textures, and natural warmth.

Inspired by the low-slung pavilions of traditional Polynesian architecture, our villas feature high pitched ceilings wrapped in natural palm-thatch, allowing heat to escape upwards. Floor-to-ceiling glass screens open completely, merging the indoor lounge with the private pool deck.

Textured stone pillars, polished concrete flooring, and deep charcoal-tinted wood provide a dark, soothing interior color scheme that offsets the bright tropical sunlight outside, keeping spaces naturally cool and serene.
